Remove Blank PDF Pages
Auto-detect and delete blank pages from a scanned PDF
About this tool
Remove Blank PDF Pages scans every page of your document, renders it locally, and flags pages that are effectively empty — no text and almost no visible ink. This is especially useful after duplex (two-sided) scanning, where the back side of a single-sided original comes out blank, or when merging several files leaves stray empty pages. A sensitivity slider lets you tighten or relax the blank threshold, and a thumbnail grid shows exactly which pages are flagged so you can confirm or override the selection before exporting. The kept pages are written into a new PDF in their original order with text and vectors preserved. Everything runs in your browser — your PDF is never uploaded.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does it decide a page is blank?
It renders each page and checks for both text content and visible ink. A page with little to no text and a non-white pixel ratio below the threshold is flagged as blank. You can adjust the threshold before exporting.
Why does duplex scanning create blank pages?
When you scan a single-sided original in duplex mode, the scanner captures the empty back of every sheet, producing a blank page after each content page. This tool removes those automatically.
Can I review pages before they are deleted?
Yes. After detection, a thumbnail grid shows every flagged page so you can confirm or uncheck individual pages before exporting the cleaned PDF.
What does the sensitivity slider do?
It controls the blank threshold — the maximum non-white pixel ratio for a page to count as blank. A lower value is stricter (fewer pages flagged), a higher value flags pages with light content.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Rendering, detection, and export all happen locally in your browser. Your document never leaves your device.
What is the page limit?
Up to 80 pages per file, to keep in-browser rendering fast. For larger documents, split the PDF first and process each part.
Does it remove pages with a tiny stamp or header?
Pages with very little ink may still be flagged depending on the threshold. Lower the sensitivity to keep pages that have any meaningful content.
