About this tool
Split Odd and Even Pages divides one PDF into two output files: one containing pages 1, 3, 5, and so on, and another containing pages 2, 4, 6, and so on. Use it to separate front and back page sets for printing, isolate alternating answer or review pages, or divide documents that assign odd and even pages to different workflows. The original order inside each output is preserved. This tool does not interleave two files back into the original alternating order. All processing happens locally in your browser using pdf-lib; the source file never leaves your device. Maximum file size is 50 MB.

Will both PDFs download automatically?
No. After splitting, use the separate odd and even download buttons. A one-page PDF produces only an odd output.
Does it use printed page numbers?
No. It uses each page’s position in the PDF, starting at 1, regardless of page labels or numbers printed on the page.
What should the five-page example produce?
The odd PDF contains source pages 1, 3, 5. The even PDF contains source pages 2, 4. The order inside each file stays unchanged.
How do I restore alternating order?
Use the separate Merge Odd and Even PDF Pages tool. The general Merge PDF tool concatenates whole files instead.
Which files are supported?
Readable, unencrypted PDFs up to 50 MB. Processing stays in your browser; large documents can still exceed available memory.
