About this tool

Merge PDF Files combines two or more PDFs into a single output PDF, in the order you specify. Drag-and-drop multiple files at once, reorder them with arrow buttons, remove items you didn't mean to add, then click to merge — the output downloads immediately. Each input file is capped at 50 MB; large merges may take a few seconds depending on browser performance. Common scenarios include combining signed contract sections from multiple parties, assembling a portfolio from individual project PDFs, joining scanned chapters into a single book PDF, and concatenating receipts for expense reports. All processing happens locally in your browser using pdf-lib; nothing is uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many PDFs can I merge at once?

There is no hard count limit, but each input file is capped at 50 MB and total output size is bounded by browser memory.

Can I reorder files before merging?

Yes. Use the up/down arrows next to each file row to set the merge order. The number badge shows the final position.

Are PDF properties (metadata) merged?

The output gets a new minimal metadata block. Source-PDF metadata (title, author, etc.) is not copied over — content pages are.

Is my PDF uploaded to any server?

No. Everything is processed locally in your browser using pdf-lib. The files never leave your device.

What is the file size limit?

50 MB per input file. Output size scales with total input size and may use significant browser memory for very large merges.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

No. Remove passwords first using an unlock workflow, then merge the cleartext files.

When is this most useful?

Combining signed contract sections, assembling project portfolios, joining scanned book chapters, concatenating receipts for expense reports.
