About this tool
Merge Odd and Even PDF Pages rebuilds a duplex-scanned document from two separate PDFs: one containing the front-side odd pages and another containing the back-side even pages. Many scanners save the even-page pass in reverse order, so the tool can reverse that file before alternating pages. You can also keep the even file forward and choose which side starts the output. A sequence preview makes the final order visible before export. Both PDFs are processed locally with pdf-lib and are never uploaded.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are even pages usually reversed?
When a stack is scanned twice, the back-side pass is often fed from the opposite end. Its page order therefore needs reversing before interleaving.
Can I keep the even-page PDF in its current order?
Yes. Select Keep original order when the even-page file is already arranged as pages 2, 4, 6, and so on.
What happens when the two files have different page counts?
The tool alternates every available pair and appends the remaining page from the longer side in the selected sequence.
Is this different from normal PDF merge?
Yes. A normal merger concatenates complete files. This tool alternates individual pages from the two PDFs.
Are my scanned documents uploaded?
No. Page copying and PDF creation happen locally in your browser.
Does it work with encrypted PDFs?
Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked before they can be interleaved.
