Why do eight pages produce four PDF pages?
Each output PDF page is one landscape side containing two source pages. Four PDF sides use two physical sheets when printed duplex, one PDF page per side.
What is the eight-page order?
For left-to-right reading, the output pairs are 8 | 1, 2 | 7, 6 | 3, and 4 | 5. Right-to-left reading swaps the left and right slots on every side.
What happens with seven pages?
The document is padded to eight slots. The first front becomes Blank | 1, followed by 2 | 7, 6 | 3, and 4 | 5. No source page is dropped.
Should I enable booklet mode in the print dialog?
No. The downloaded file is already imposed. Print one PDF page per side. For landscape duplex, test short-edge flipping first and change the edge if the backs are upside down; printer behavior varies.
Are forms, annotations, and signatures preserved?
The tool embeds page content into new sides. Interactive fields, annotations, bookmarks, and digital signatures are not preserved as functioning original document features; verify visible content before printing.
Does it split a long book into signatures?
No. It creates one signature for the whole file and does not add creep compensation. For a thick book, divide the document into suitable sections and consult your print provider.
