Choose 2-up, 4-up, or 6-up, A4 or Letter, and portrait or landscape paper. Each page keeps its aspect ratio, crop box, and quarter-turn rotation. How is N-up different from booklet imposition?
N-up keeps pages consecutive, filling each row from left to right. Booklet imposition reorders pages for folding and binding. Use Booklet Maker for a folded reading sequence.
How do orientation and layout interact?
Landscape 2-up uses two columns; portrait 2-up uses two rows. Both 4-up modes use a 2 by 2 grid. Landscape 6-up uses three columns by two rows; portrait uses two columns by three rows.
Why does a seven-page document become two pages at 4-up?
Each output PDF page is a printed side with four positions. The final side holds pages 5, 6, 7 and one blank slot. Two PDF sides can be printed on one duplex sheet; existing source blank pages still occupy positions.
Should I enable multiple pages per sheet when printing?
Print one PDF page per side because the file already combines pages. Applying 2-up, 4-up, or 6-up again scales the combined result down a second time. Check a small proof for readable text.
Are source pages stretched or rotated automatically?
Pages keep their aspect ratio and their existing PDF rotation. The tool fits each displayed crop box inside its slot; it does not rotate pages further to maximize their size.
Are forms, annotations, and signatures preserved?
Page embedding does not preserve interactive fields, annotations, bookmarks, or valid digital signatures as original document features. Check visible content before printing. Encrypted or corrupt PDFs cannot be processed.
