About this tool
Generate Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 39, ITF-14 or Codabar with JsBarcode. Input is limited to 160 characters. Code 128 accepts printable ASCII; Code 39 converts supported letters to uppercase. EAN-13 accepts 12 digits and adds the check digit, or validates all 13; UPC-A accepts 11/12 and ITF-14 accepts 13/14 in the same way. Codabar requires A–D start and end characters around its supported data characters. The result shows the exact encoded value. Set bar width 1–4 pixels, integer height 30–240 and integer margin 0–50, colors and readable text. Identical foreground/background colors are rejected, but other color choices are not certified for contrast. SVG remains vector; PNG uses twice the SVG pixel dimensions. Both downloads belong to the completed result and are invalidated by edits. Margins are user-selected and not an automatic quiet-zone standard check. Test print size, contrast, quiet zones and the actual scanner. Rendering does not assign a GTIN or establish registration, ownership or business validity. Data and settings are not saved or uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which formats and characters are supported?
Code 128 uses printable ASCII. Code 39 uppercases its supported letters. EAN-13, UPC-A and ITF-14 use digits; Codabar requires A–D start/end characters and supported numeric/punctuation data.
Will a missing retail check digit be added?
Yes: EAN-13 accepts 12 digits, UPC-A 11 and ITF-14 13, then appends the computed digit. Complete values are checked. The exact final value appears in the result.
How do SVG and PNG differ?
SVG keeps vector geometry. PNG is rasterized at twice the completed SVG dimensions. Neither choice guarantees a particular physical print size.
Are margin and colors validated for scanning?
Numeric bounds and valid, different colors are checked. Quiet-zone and contrast requirements vary; generous margins and dark bars on a light background still need real scanner tests.
Does generation register an identifier?
No. GTIN/UPC allocation, ownership, product data and operational validity require the relevant authority or business system.
Are inputs stored or uploaded?
No. Encoding and downloads happen locally. Editing content or options removes the previous result so downloads cannot silently use the old value.
