About this tool
Read one text QR code from an uploaded, dropped or pasted PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF image up to 15 MB. Canvas and jsQR process pixels locally and try normal and inverted contrast; images and decoded text are not uploaded or saved as drafts. Images larger than 2600 pixels on their longest side are reduced, which can make a tiny QR harder to read. GIF processing uses the browser-decoded frame, not an animation scan. URL, Wi-Fi, vCard, email and TOTP labels are prefix classifications, not field validation. HTTP(S) links open only when you choose them.

Which image formats are supported?
PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF up to 15 MB. Only one text QR is returned per run. GIF is decoded from one browser-rendered frame; animated-frame scanning is not supported.
Can I paste a screenshot instead of uploading it?
Yes. Focus the tool area and paste an image from the clipboard.
Why was no QR code found?
Use a sharper image with the complete quiet border visible, adequate contrast, and minimal perspective distortion.
Does the tool open decoded links automatically?
No. It displays the URL first so you can inspect the destination before choosing to open it.
Can it read Wi-Fi and authenticator QR codes?
It returns raw WIFI and otpauth content and labels the prefix. It does not validate credentials, configure a network or enroll an authenticator. Treat the decoded text as potentially sensitive.
