About this tool
Try to fit up to 30 PNG, JPEG, WebP or AVIF images under a selected 20, 50, 100, 200 or 500 KiB target. One KiB equals 1024 bytes. Keep the source format or select JPEG, WebP or PNG. The tool tries up to nine progressively smaller dimensions, starting at the optional maximum edge, and searches lossy quality without going below the selected minimum. At the first dimensions that fit, it keeps the highest sampled quality under the target. PNG ignores quality and can only use re-encoding and smaller dimensions. A maximum edge of zero disables the initial size cap, but later attempts can still shrink dimensions. This is a bounded search, not a guarantee of an exact target or a globally optimal file. The final badge always compares the downloaded file size with the selected target; output growth is shown explicitly. JPEG fills transparency white. Re-encoding retains one frame and does not copy original metadata. Review actual dimensions and appearance before accepting an upload candidate. Each input must be at most 40 MiB, with no edge above 8192 pixels and no more than 32 million pixels. Files are processed in this tab and are not saved as browser drafts.

Check images against a website upload limit
Goal: Make a reviewed upload candidate while keeping exact bytes separate from the approximate preset.
- Confirm whether the destination uses 100000 bytes or 100 KiB (102400 bytes), and choose a lower preset when needed.
- Choose WebP or JPEG for a photo, set minimum quality and an initial maximum edge, then run compression.
- Read the final size, target badge and dimensions; inspect the downloaded image before uploading. If it misses the limit, reduce the target or choose another format.
Result: A candidate with measured output size and a visible quality tradeoff; upload acceptance still depends on the destination rules.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the target use KB or KiB?
The presets use KiB: 100 KiB is 102400 bytes. If a website requires less than 100000 bytes, use a lower target and check the downloaded file.
Can the file miss the target or grow?
Yes. The encoder and bounded search may not reach the target, and an already efficient original may become larger. Both cases are shown in the result.
Does a maximum edge of zero preserve dimensions?
Only for the first attempt. The tool may still reduce both dimensions proportionally during its next eight attempts to meet the target.
What does minimum quality mean for PNG?
PNG ignores quality. It preserves the pixels of each resized canvas, so reducing dimensions is the available size tradeoff.
Will alpha and animation survive?
PNG, WebP and AVIF can retain alpha; JPEG fills it white. Only one frame is encoded and original metadata is not copied.
How can I check the result?
Read the actual byte comparison, final dimensions and target badge, then inspect the downloaded image at its intended display size.
